Ensign Peak had an amazing view the night we hiked it. It was growing dark as we sat at the top and the thunder clouds rolling in added a great element to the pictures we took and made the night seem darker than it normally would have.
My goal to go on a hike every week this summer hasn't exactly happened that way like I planned it, but I have gone on many hikes because of it, many that I haven't been on for years. One thing I like this summer is I haven't allowed myself to be lazy and that I'm making sure I have a fun and active summer trying to fit in all the seasonal activities possible! I tell you, there's no funner way to do it. (Yes, I know funner isn't a word, but it fit!) Now I just have to make sure I still get a camping trip!
These pictures were pretty awesome... especially of the valley! I have never been on these trails, but as a kid just under your age now, way back in the 70's, I used to drive many nights along the old Wasatch Road where the freeway is now, and look out over the valley at night. I used to also love to go up Big Cottonwood Canyon and then come back down and look out over the valley. It was lots smaller in my day!
ReplyDeleteTry painting those pictures with your words. Make me see it in my imagination. Otherwise excellent stories.
